|Michigan Marching Band
The origins of this musical group date back to 1896
and fills Big Blue gamedays with tremendous spirit
inducing high notes and college football's great
song, "Hail to the Victors!"
On football Saturdays, fans can watch the band's
pregame practice on Elbel Field. About 90-minutes
before kickoff, the Michigan Drumline performs on
the steps of Revelli Hall. Th MMB then marches out
onto Hoover St. for its march to the Stadium. The
band generates great fanfare by performing for
tailgaters as it approaches the stadium.
Once in the stadium, the MMB performs the Fanfare
M that culminates with the Back Bend, performs the
Goal Post Toss and the high step. The Wolverines'
band makes a tunnel for the team during pregame
and after the game returns to the field and performs
"The Victors" and other songs.
